While in high school and college, Harmon played guitar for blues musicians Z. Z. Hill, Dorothy Moore and Sam Myers. He moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s in the pursuit of a career in the music industry. He worked as a studio musician, and later, built himself to become a writer/producer. Harmon produced tracks for Black Uhuru's album The Mystical Truth, which also received a Grammy nomination in 1994, as well as crafting songs for The O'Jays, The Whispers, Karyn White, and Alexander O'Neal.[3] Compelled by his dream of recording his own blues record, he created his first solo work, Live at Babe and Ricky's Inn, in 2002.
Harmon (and the Mid South Blues Revue) won the 2004 International Blues Challenge for Best Unsigned Blues Band, sponsored by the Southern California Blues Society of Los Angeles. In 2005, XM Satellite Radio listeners voted Harmon the Best New Blues Artist in the XM Nation Awards, and in 2006, he was awarded the Blues Music Award for Best New Artist Debut for his album, The Blues According to Zacariah.
In 2010, Harmon performed at the "Mississippi Celebrates its GRAMMY Legacy" event, hosted by Haley Barbour, where he was presented with a Peavey Award.
Harmon made his Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival debut on 12 July 2019. He was granted another Blues Music Award in 2022, when his album Long As I Got My Guitar, was deemed to be 'Soul Blues Album of the Year'.

Otros singles, como “One man band” (número 6) o “Long tall glasses” (número 4 en el Reino Unido y número 9 en Estados Unidos), también recibieron un notable recibimiento comercial, a la vez que el LP (número 4) “Just a boy” (1974), último disco en el cual el autor de la música de sus temas, Dave Courtney, colaboraría por última vez con Sayer.Las relaciones entre ellos eran malas y decidieron romper. El encargado de firmar los temas con Leo sería a partir de ahora Frank Farrell.
“Another Year” (1975), un LP (número 8) co-producido por Adam Faith y Russ Ballard, incluía el single “Moonlighting” (número 2). El año más importante de la carrera discográfica de Leo Sayer fue 1976. En plena fiebre discotequera apareció “Endless Flight” (1976), un LP (número 4) producido por Richard Perry, el encargado de conducir ahora su carrera, que contenía hits importantes como “When I need you” (número 1) y su tema más popular, “You make me feel like dancing” (número 2 en Gran Bretaña y número 1 en los Estados Unidos), en donde con su falsete Sayer nos invitaba al bailoteo. A partir de aquí sí que sus ventas menguaron, a excepción de una versión del clásico de los Crickets “More that I can say”, tema que llegó al número 2 tanto en Gran Bretaña como en los Estados Unidos.
Wendy Van Wanten, seudónimo de Iris Vandenkerckhove (Ostende, 6 de febrero de 1960), es una modelo y cantante flamenca, comenzó su carrera como modelo en una agencia de modelos de Lovaina. Ha aparecido en Elle, Vogue, Burda, Flair y The American New Look, entre otros. En 1986 se convirtió en la ganadora de la Copa Baccara como Iris en el equipo de Johan Verminnen con la canción If I could only.... Damien Leo Leith (born 18 January 1976, in Dublin) is an Irish-Australiansinger–songwriter. He was the winner of the Network Ten music contest Australian Idol 2006. Since winning the title, Leith has released nine studio albums, four of which peaked in the top two of the ARIA Charts, including two number ones. He has been awarded seven platinum and one gold certification for albums and singles by ARIA, which equates to sales of just over half a million.
As a teenager Leith formed a family band, "Leaf", with his sister Áine and brothers Paul and Darren. Leaf recorded in New York City and then again later under the new name "Releaf", which made an appearance in the Irish Top 100. After moving to Sydney, he played in a number of high-profile venues, as front-man for a band known as Revelate. His first Australian performance was at The Basement in Sydney's Circular Quay.
Only following determined coaxing by friends, Leith auditioned for the 4th series of Network Ten's Australian Idol along with some 25,000 other contestants. He was selected by the judges as one of the final 24 contestants, and was the first person voted into the competition's top 12 as the result of a nationwide viewer vote. He was praised by the show's judges for his falsetto technique, which he used regularly in performances. For the first time, Australian Idol 2006 permitted contestants to perform with instruments, and Leith accompanied himself on guitar for his renditions of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game", Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", Alex Lloyd's "Never Meant to Fail" and Ben Harper's "Waiting on an Angel", and on piano for his rendition of Split Enz's "Message to My Girl". Leith also played piano for the non-competition round "Up Close and Personal" night, when he performed his original song "Sky".[citation needed]
Despite adverse comments from judges Mark Holden and Kyle Sandilands in relation to Leith's appearance and a performance of Kool and the Gang's "Celebration" on the "Disco" theme night, which drew ridicule from Holden, the judges' assessments of Leith's performances were usually positive with Holden labelling him a 'darkhorse' early in the competition. His renditions of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game", Roy Orbison's "Crying", Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" and Puccini's "Nessun Dorma" each earned Leith a "Touchdown" from Mark Holden, Holden's ultimate accolade for an excellent performance.[citation needed]
Leith holds the record (with Australian Idol 2004 winner Casey Donovan) for being awarded the most touchdowns, at four apiece. Sandilands also stated that the family of Roy Orbison had contacted the Australian Idol producers requesting a copy of Leith's performance of "Crying". Although he was one of the most popular interviewees on Idol's behind-the-scenes show Idol Backstage, he was not expected by betting agencies to win the competition with Dean Geyer punted as the favourite to win throughout.
Leith is one of only few contestants to never land in the bottom 2 or bottom 3 throughout their series. During a live broadcast from the Sydney Opera House, Leith was announced the winner, over runner-up Jessica Mauboy. At age 30 at the time, Leith became the second oldest winner of any Idol series in the world. Controversy among viewers was created as Leith was not an Australiancitizen at the time of winning the Australian Idol

Their shared love of past hits, especially from the ‘80s has propelled them to create versions that remain both loyal to the original spirit of the song and also offer the listener something new. While they have both been known to work independently, they agree that they prefer collaborating as a duo rather than working alone.
In 1980, Claude McKnight, older brother of R&B musician Brian McKnight, formed an a cappella quartet, The Gentlemen's Estates Quartet, at Oakwood College (now Oakwood University), a Seventh-day Adventist university in Huntsville, Alabama, where he was a freshman. He auditioned students for the group. While rehearsing in a campus bathroom to prepare for a performance, Mark Kibble heard them singing. He joined the harmonizing, adding a fifth part with them onstage that night.] Kibble invited Mervyn Warren to join the group, which performed under the name Alliance.Alliance performed in local churches and on campus with a changing roster of members. In 1985, the lower half of the group (bass, baritone, and second tenor) left after graduating. Alvin Chea, Cedric Dent, and David Thomas joined.
The band signed a contract with Warner Alliance in 1987 and changed its name to Take 6 after a search revealed the name "Alliance" was in use. Their self-titled debut album (1988) won Grammy Awards in the gospel and jazz categories and three Dove Awards. They contributed to the film Do the Right Thing and sang on the album Back on the Block by Quincy Jones. They also appeared on Sesame Street and Spike Lee & Company: Do It a Cappella. The band's second album, So Much 2 Say (1990) appeared on the gospel, jazz, and R&B charts of Billboard magazine. The band then signed with Reprise. In 1991, after the release of So Much 2 Say, Mervyn Warren left the group to pursue a career as a record producer and was replaced by Joey Kibble, Mark Kibble's younger brother. The group added instrumentation to their a cappella sound on the album He Is Christmas.
In 2006, the group started the label Take 6 Records; Feels Good, the first album on their new label, was released the same year. In 2007, they recorded with Eros Ramazzotti for his album E². A year later Take 6 released The Standard, which ventured into more traditional jazz territory.
Believe (Sono, 2016), produced by Claude Villani and Ross Vannelli, charted in six categories on Billboard in its first two weeks of release.[5]Iconic (Sono, 2018), produced and arranged by the band, was its first album to chart at No. 1 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Chart.[citation needed] The first single was a cover version of "Change the World" by Eric Clapton and debuted on the Contemporary Jazz Song chart in the top 30. The second single, "Sailing", is a cover of the Christopher Cross classic.
